![]() You are Robert Foster(yes, named after the beer), having grown up in the care of Aboriginals in the wasteland that is The Gap(I guess the store really took a turn for the worse) where you were abandoned, and now taken back to "civilization", to find that it is a 1984-ish Cyberpunk nightmare. The "Euro-American War" has ended, and Union City, which you spend most of this trying to get back out of, has removed all labor rights. The nature of this dystopia is hampered by pollution and/or nuclear fallout. Be warned though, there are some tricky puzzles in there. I played and completed this on the now rare and antiquated Amiga CD32 console, but thanks to the creation of ScummVM and the fact Revolution commendably made BASS freeware in 2003, everyone can enjoy it. The voice acting on the 'talkie' version really helps bring it alive too (although I'm not sure why Rob Foster, the Australian protagonist, is played by an American). I've read that some found the script somewhat contrived, but personally I find it is quite witty and has some amusing pop culture references if you examine the right items at the right time. The plot is excellent, and each time I play the game I am pulled into the world Revolution Software created. ![]() It paints a bleak future, set in a sprawling Orwellian metropolis where plastic surgery is considered essential to all, sentient androids are indistinguishable from humans and the internet has evolved into a psychedelic virtual reality trip accessible through a 'hole in the head'. While humorous and somewhat tongue-in-cheek, BASS was not afraid to take in cyberpunk elements and point the plot towards the darker side of human nature. Even with healthy competition, this stood head and shoulders above most of what was available and it did so at a time when the market was nearly saturated with P&C style games. He also claims that a shell hit a school in the village of Zamostye, which is east of the neighbouring villages of Glotovo and Grayvoron.Beneath A Steel Sky was released when titles such as LucasArts Monkey Island and Sierra's Police Quest were essential games. "There are three more victims in Grayvoron - two men and one woman with shrapnel wounds, they are in the hospital in a state of moderate severity." "The woman is in intensive care in a serious condition, the man is in a state of moderate severity. In a post on Telegram, Mr Gladkov writes: "After the shelling of the village of Glotovo, a man and a woman with explosive wounds were taken to the regional hospital. Two groups calling themselves the "Russian Volunteer Corps" and the "Freedom of Russia Legion" say they are behind the incursions. ![]() He says six people have been injured in the region, and that at least three houses and a local administrative building have been damaged.Ī senior aide to Ukraine's president said Kyiv had "nothing to do with" the events in the region. More coming out of Belgorod from the region's governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, who says the area has been hit by a cross-border attack by a Ukrainian "sabotage and reconnaissance group". He also says that while F-16s are ready to be sent over to Ukraine now, he expects that they will not be in use until next year due to the need to train pilots and build up spare parts. "Really that shows the state of the air force that they are having to recruit people to what should be a core role." "They are even recruiting, apparently, retired aviation teams to fly these things, which is really odd, because you think any air force worth its salt would actually have close air support at its core. In other words, they are designed to have a go at the Ukrainian forces on the ground as they mount their attack. Speaking to The News Hour with Mark Austin, he says: "It will be formed of SU-24 fighters - a 1960s vintage fighter - and the SUV-25 - which is a 2014 fighter - and also attack helicopters. Our military analyst Sean Bell says the timing of Russia's new unit is "no coincidence". It comes after the US authorised Western allies to give F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. We reported earlier on British intelligence that suggests Russia is preparing to set up a new "elite" air attack unit.
